This year’s SA Botanical Garden medal pays tribute to the Texas state flower—the bluebonnet. The medals are $8 each (a pin goes for $5) and are available at the Botanical Garden Gift Shop and official Fiesta Commission store on Broadway (though at last check, the medals were sold out there).
The Botanical Gardens also offer a fantastic family Fiesta event starting at 10:00 a.m. on April 18th where you can decorate your children’s wagons and parade through the grounds.

If you have kids you definitely want to get out to Viva Botánica, the Fiesta event at the San Antonio Botanical Garden. The gates open at 10:00 a.m. and you can decorate your children’s stroller or wagon so that they can participate in the cutest parade of all Fiesta.
Don’t have kids? Come on down and enjoy a relaxing stroll through the gardens (I enjoy going through the desert ecosystem). Be sure to stop by the spring plant sale on your way out and buy some native plants for your house and garden.
