We all know that Fiesta is the “Party with a Purpose,” raising a ton of money for local nonprofit organizations and scholarship funds. SA Flavor is proud to play a small role in giving back to the local community through our medals. Each one of our SA Flavor creators’ medals has a minimum of a $1 that goes to their favorite local nonprofit organization. So, when you purchase any of our medals online or in a store, you can know that you are making a difference in the community! And last year the total amount raised from SA Flavor sales was just over $45,000!!!!
One of my most favorite things is getting to link up the creator with their charity for a big check presentation. This past year we visited SA Youth, Martinez Street Women’s Center, the Rey Feo Scholarship Foundation and Project Brave, just to name a few.
We also helped support the River Walk Foundation by backing Uriel Diaz’s campaign to become king! His Sirena Medal raised $5,000 for this organization that is responsible for maintaining and cleaning the jewel of our city.
With 2020, we are continuing this tradition and look to raise money for organizations in our area. Each of our SA Flavor creators has a story to tell not only with their medal, but also with the nonprofit in which a dollar is donated on their behalf.
Finally, we are also partnering with different folks in the community to help raise money for their organizations by selling their medals on commission. For 2020, we are proud to carry the Fiesta Commission’s poster medal, the NIOSA medal and Child Advocates San Antonio’s (CASA) medal in our online store and even selling medals of different medal heads, such as the unicorn by Glenn Goolsby’s daughter and Anita Samaniego-Avellana’s nurse medal.
We know that many nonprofits have been impacted by the global events and are going to be receiving their medals late and may not have enough events to be able to sell through their medals.
